Garda and surroundings
Lake Garda, with its 25 picturesque villages, all connected by the "Gardesana" state road and reachable by highway, is rich in historical monuments, castles and fortresses and therefore offers a glimpse into its unmatched history. Precisely for this reason writers and painters of great fame choose Lake Garda as their favorite holiday resort: here they are able to find the inspiration necessary for the accomplishment of their works. The waters of Lake Garda reach many places and three provinces Italian: Verona, arriving in Peschiera del Garda, Castelnuovo del Garda, Lazise, Bardolino, Garda, Torri del Benaco, Brenzone and Malcesine; that of Brescia, in the municipalities of Lonato, Sirmione, Desenzano del Garda, Padenghe del Garda, Moniga del Garda, San Felice del Benaco, Manerba del Garda, Salò, Toscolano-Maderno, Gardone Riviera, Gargnano, Tignale, Tremosine and Limone sul Garda ; finally that of Trento, with Riva del Garda and Nago-Torbole. A daily ferry service connects all these places, which then become easily reachable even by water.
The climate on Lake Garda is mild throughout the year, with its warm (sometimes hot) summer months (from late April to early October) and winter months characterized by low rainfall. This climate is ideal for favoring the presence of local products such as olives, lemons and oranges, wines and truffles, products known worldwide and highly appreciated by both locals and visitors.
