A fascinating Moorish profile and the precious sulphurous springs are the treasure of Santa Cesarea, a jewel of the Adriatic coast. South of Otranto and about 35 km from Lecce, Santa Cesarea Terme overlooks the Adriatic with its elegant oriental lines, on the top of a plateau overlooking the sea. The territory of Vitigliano, Cerfignano and Porto Miggiano are also included in its territory. The symbol of the town is the Moorish dome of the nineteenth-century Villa Sticchi, which looks like a small mosque clinging to the rocks, a few steps from the sea. The extravagant lines of the noble residences shape the horizon, where Villa Raffaella, Palazzo Tamborrino, overlooking the cliff, and Palazzo Gargasole, today home to the fascinating Clock Museum of the Civic Towers, also stand out. The precious springs of sulphurous water , coming from the four natural caves along the coast, have made Santa Cesarea a spa of primary importance, chosen for specialized medical treatments and personalized treatments. A path through the Aleppo pines leads to the upper part of the town: from here it embraces the entire coast, from the natural swimming pool in the sea of Porto Miggiano to the coastal towers in the direction of Otranto.
