Cattolica is the southernmost seaside resort on the Adriatic Coast of Emilia Romagna, about twenty kilometers from Rimini, on the border with the Marche region. Where Romagna gives way to the first hills of the Marche region, the Queen of the Adriatic rises, a name associated with beauty of the landscape and the sea that make the renowned and peaceful resort a privileged holiday destination for a substantial Italian and foreign clientele. The city proudly boasts its maritime origins and an ancient tradition of hospitality that dates back to when it was a place of transit and rest for the wayfarers who traveled the Via Flaminia (200 BC). Equipped with an efficient receptive organization, it has recently been renewed thanks to an extensive urban redevelopment that involved squares, gardens and public spaces. In 2008 it also inaugurated the marina.
